The Hold Up at John's
Two different people tried to rob the store at the same time only to find out in the end that the cashier was also robbing the store. The cashier was actually another robber who arrived at the store earlier and tied up the clerk.
It was all part of an Ithaca College Intermediate Field Production class. The students, all Television-Radio majors with a video production concentration, were videotaping a script entitled The Hold Up written by students Peter Berg, Andrew Chu and Eric Zapakin. The script is based on a short story by Riyadh Miller.
John and Bev Hitchings, owners of John's Fine Foods, graciously allowed the use of their store after hours for the shoot. The students worked with the Owego Village Police Department to make sure there were no misunderstandings about the night's events. Bucky of John's Fine Foods stayed with the students to keep the store open and help out where needed.
Actors were Ryan Regan, Tim Foote, and Matt Murply. Owego Free
Academy senior Chris Gilfillan helped out with a short acting scene.
